The Hill House History

In 1946 at Glen Brook’s founding, the Hill House was rented to a local family for $10 a month and only had outhouses as bathrooms. As Camp Glen Brook grew, the Hill House was updated to include bathrooms in 1955 and began to house campers as enrollment grew. In 1964, the Pine Room was added to the south side of the building and more projects followed in the following years.

The Hill House serves many purposes at Camp Glen Brook and houses many individuals throughout the year. Gap students live in the Hill House each Fall, summer campers call it home during summer camp, and school program students stay there as well. It also houses our ice skate shop in the winter!

Over the decades, many improvements have been made to keep this building functional and beautiful for all who stay there. This year, the Hill House got a fresh coat of paint and is looking good as new!
