Zach Conner

Youth Program Director

Since 2024

Zach’s goal as a teacher is to help students cultivate a genuine love for learning, the outdoors, and community, while empowering them to make positive change in their lives and the world. Zach began working as an outdoor educator in middle and high school, and returned to the field after graduating from UCLA with a degree in English and Civic Engagement. Working as a lead teacher, supervisor, and program director in Los Angeles, CA and Hartford, CT, Zach planned and taught hundreds of classes at parks and trailheads, mentored new staff, and developed innovative programming for organic place- and project-based learning. Zach loves to learn from colleagues, students, and the land itself. He understands curiosity as an ongoing practice that can enrich our relationships to knowledge, community, and the world as a whole. Attending an international high school in Abu Dhabi, and adventuring around the melting pot of Los Angeles has given Zach an immense appreciation for making new friends, trying new things, and learning across cultures.

Zach is thrilled to join the Glen Brook team, and looks forward to exploring the woods, cooking fresh meals from the farm, and singing under starlight. In his free time, you can find him reading, biking, snorkeling, writing, playing music, trying new recipes, tracking animals, and roaming around with his best friend, Fones the friendly cat.
