Maia grew up in central Vermont, helping out at her family’s artisan bakery with her younger sister, also a camp staff member. She attended her first summer at Camp Glen Brook at age 8, and has been back every summer since. Maia made many lifelong friendships during her summers at camp, and discovered a love of hiking that has taken her as far as a semester abroad in the mountains of New Zealand. She attended the University of Vermont and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a Certificate in Place-Based Education. The recipient of UVM’s Constructivist Educator Award, Maia has been caring for young children for as long as she can remember, and is always excited for opportunities to apply her knowledge of education to her various positions at Camp.Maia loves to support staff in cultivating a deep appreciation for curiosity, community, and a sense of place. When not at Camp, Maia can be found knitting, bouldering, and sharing delicious food with friends and family.
