MEDICAL CARE AND MEAL SERVICE

The camp has a residential nurse who oversees the health care of the camp. Our Health Center is a welcoming space where smiles and hugs are dispensed more often than pills. An 80-physician clinic and hospital are just 12 minutes away in Keene. Many families prefer alternative medicine and we can work with a naturopathic physician in Keene if parents prefer. We offer wholesome meals served family-style, usually made from high quality, fresh ingredients rather than prepared foods. We always offer a tasty vegetarian alternative. Candy, soda, or junk food are very rare and packages from home are screened.

RELIGIOUS LIFE

Glen Brook is non-sectarian and families of all faiths are welcome. Our philosophy acknowledges an underlying spiritual foundation of the world and we accept that each of us has a spiritual core to be recognized and nurtured. We begin each meal with a singing or spoken grace and all campers and staff attend a 30-minute weekly service of offering and thanksgiving. Catholic campers may attend weekly mass in town. We are open to working with parents to meet other special needs.
