The Waldorf School of Garden City's 7th grade class was just here for a week of teambuilding, adventure and mechanics. They explored some of our low ropes course elements, hiked Mount Monadnock as a team and supported each other through our high ropes course. In Main Lesson, they learned about different principles of mechanics, including those involved in climbing to the top of Mount Monadnock. Their Main Lesson culminated in the barn, where they used various pulleys to hoist each other from the ground to the rafters. This class also gave back to Glen Brook by working on the farm: working in the garden, moving logs, and painting shingles for the new siding of the hill house.
Though we were too busy to take many pictures this week, we will long remember this class of exceptional students who supported each other and worked together through all their activities, and look forward to seeing them again in the fall.
