The Waldorf School of Garden City's 12th grade just came for their last Glen Brook trip. The seniors spent the week learning about food economics, cooking all their own meals, and working on the land. They spent time tapping maple trees for sugaring; making a rustic bench as a class to be put in the woods; doing forestry and evaluating our tree thinning process; and helping to carry lots of lumber for our new tent platforms in the woods. We also spent a day skiing at a nearby mountain, and were graced with ten inches of snow for our last full day, which was spent sledding and having snowball fights. The seniors also took this opportunity to reflect on their experiences over the years, and appreciate how thankful they are for their wonderful education at Garden City and at Glen Brook. We will miss seeing this class return every year, but wish them all the best and trust that they will come visit us from time to time, as Glen Brook belongs to them and will always be here.
