Today the rain has not slowed us down. The Foxes cleaned the chicken coop and lassooed sheep so that we could trim their hooves and give them de-worming medicine. We have been having several lasso lessons each week, first practicing with a long-handled shovel stuck in the ground and then graduating to a running animal. We have found that ewes can occasionally be caught without use of the lariat, but a small, spirited lamb on the run is simply too fast to catch. Only certain campers have the speed and dexterity to rope a running sheep! And down at the Lake, during a very rainy swim period, Leon and friends enjoyed wake-boarding in many puddles. It's a warm rain, but nonetheless Leon fired up the woodstove in the lake house so that swimmers (and wake-boarders) could warm up between dips.
