Sun showers made today’s General Swim down at the lake stand out. Swimming during a rainfall can be a unique and sensational experience, and today it was one that our campers embraced fully. All of our normal waterfront activities – jumping on the Wet Deck (our floating trampoline), swooshing down the water slide, kayaking around the lake, and swimming – were done with the same moxie that the sunniest of summer days demands. Walking around camp today you would’ve found the Foxes singing garden songs in farm life class, the Otters acting in performance class, the Raccoons building functional rafts made of sticks in swimming class, the Eagles chiseling away at various projects in woodshop, and the Deer, in nature class, walking upstream – the cool, flowing water running in between their toes. The Falcons return tomorrow from their four-day canoe trip. We await their stories of challenge and triumph!
