July 10, 2009 - Counselor Hunt

Counselor Hunt is an annual Glen Brook tradition, during which the counselors get up early, dress up in outlandish costumes, and hide all over camp. Campers are then divided into teams -- by senior staff and CITs -- and then proceed to hunt for their counselors. Once found, the counselors typically require the team to perform a challenge, an odd dance, for example, or solve a riddle. This year the theme was Circus. There were mimes and clowns; a fire-breather dressed in orange spandex named El Flamo; an odd-looking elephant who could perch on a crate like a chicken; a pair of tight-rope-walking ballerinas; a lion tamer and ferocious lion; and a pair of bearded ladies who danced a polka on a picnic table.
