Counselors
Most summer positions at Glen Brook are residential with counselors living on campus for one week of staff training and six weeks of camp. Our camp is made up of two three-week sessions with children staying overnight. Counselors usually bunk in separate rooms but are in charge of supervising the children at night.
We have openings for cabin counselors and favor counselors with the following skills and certifications (if applicable):
swim instruction, lifeguards, canoeing and kayaking, archery, arts and crafts, woodworking, nature, ropes course, music and drama, general sports, ceramics, farming and gardening.
Department Heads
In addition to counselor jobs we also hire: one head arts and crafts teacher, one performance teacher, and one woodshop teacher. These positions require applicants to have strong leadership, teaching, and organizational abilities. Because of the full load of teaching that these positions require there are no evening camper group responsibilities.
Wilderness Trips
Finally, Camp Glen Brook hires staff for our Wilderness trips programs.
-Two Trip Leaders (one male, one female)
-Two Falcon Outdoor Leadership Program Leaders
-One Wilderness Trip Coordinator/Ropes Course Instructor
Often these jobs can be used as college internships.
