Allow Plenty Of Extra Time. We Are On A Tight Schedule And Cannot Wait!
The drop-off times at the end of camp are subject to traffic delays. If a camper’s parents are not present for pickup, the camp will make arrangements for a designated camper parent well known to us to take charge of the child until the parent arrives. Normally we ask one of the parents who are also faculty members of the Rudolf Steiner School or the Waldorf School.
We can only release a camper to someone other than a parent or guardian if there has been prior written arrangement and the person shows identification.
Please keep back from curb as the coach pulls up. Do not try to board or load luggage until the driver has stopped, opened the door, and given permission.
The coach has a restroom on board. We will not normally stop en-route for the four hour trip. If we do stop at a rest area with a public multi-user restroom, campers who need to use the facilities will go in pairs. If the adult supervisor cannot go into the restroom, two of the oldest campers will be assigned to monitor while the adult is outside nearby.
Campers must remain in their seats unless going to the restroom, keep reasonably quiet, not distract the driver, and keep the coach clean of trash and spills. Campers must follow any specific safety rules given by the driver.
Wilson Bus Lines of E. Templeton, MA will provide the coach and driver. We have been using them 20 times a year for nearly a decade for camp and our school programs with no safety problems and only one mechanical problem. We have known most of the drivers for years. As interstate coach drivers, they are licensed, pass medical exams and undergo random drug testing. There is always a Glen Brook staff member on the coach.
On opening day, remember that any forms, medications, payments, etc. needs to be in a marked envelope to be handed to the bus supervisor. It is just too hectic for verbal instructions and private conferences.
On closing day, make sure to look through all of the luggage on the curb before you leave. Some luggage may have taken on a new look since the beginning of camp and may look suspiciously like a black trash bag with your child’s name taped on it.
